A hiring moratorium in the public sector, according to the minority in parliament, would exacerbate the already dismal unemployment situation.

They argue that the government should compare the present unemployment rate to the number of young people who might soon be unemployed.

The government has imposed a ban on hiring for public service beginning in January 2023 as part of cabinet orders for spending optimization in the 2023 Budget.
