Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing job creation for Ghana’s youth, promising millions of new opportunities if elected in the December 7 elections.
Addressing young attendees at the “Engagement with the Youth” event on Sunday, November 3, 2024, Dr. Bawumia shared his vision for a youth-centered economic transformation aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s economy.
“I will outline the bold economic solutions we plan to roll out, which will make it possible to create millions of jobs if I’m given the mandate on December 7,” he stated, emphasizing his dedication to the nation’s young people.
Dr. Bawumia further highlighted the pledge he made a year ago to prioritize the youth, affirming, “I have chosen this occasion to remind you, the young people, of the commitment made a year ago to make you my number one priority.”
He aims to introduce a suite of business-friendly policies by January 2025 that would foster broad sectoral growth, create sustainable jobs, and accelerate economic recovery. “My commitment is to transform Ghana and build on the economic recovery we are witnessing by introducing bold, business-friendly policy initiatives,” he added.
The NPP flagbearer explained that these policies are designed to stimulate substantial economic activity and create unprecedented opportunities for young Ghanaians, encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
“I’m confident that these initiatives will generate the wide range of job opportunities that young Ghanaians desire and deserve,” Dr. Bawumia assured.
He closed with a rallying call for Ghana’s youth to support his vision for an inclusive and vibrant economy: “Together, let us build a brighter, more prosperous future for every Ghanaian,” he urged.
