Abortion Beef: Sarkodie vs Yvonne

yv

In his newly released track, Sarkodie, also known as Michael Owusu Addo, shares his perspective on his relationship with actress Yvonne Nelson and their controversial abortion issue. Yvonne Nelson recently disclosed in her tell-all book, ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson,’ that she had a romantic involvement with the rapper in 2010, resulting in a pregnancy.

In Chapter 8 of her book, she recounts her decision to end the pregnancy because of Sarkodie’s refusal to take responsibility. She discovered Sarkodie had another girlfriend studying abroad, which led to his rejection. However, Sarkodie responds to Yvonne Nelson’s accusation in his new release ‘Try Me,’ directly addressing her and denying any encouragement of the abortion.

Sarkodie explains that although he wasn’t ready to be a father, he had advised Yvonne to keep the pregnancy, but she proceeded with the abortion because of her schooling at the time. He asserts, “So don’t make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion,” in Try Me.

Sarkodie reveals he had. To keep certain things, including the abortion, secret, implying that it could have remained undisclosed.

However, he commends Yvonne for her courage in sharing the story but cautions that she cannot selectively reveal information to the world.

He advises Yvonne not to portray herself as a victim or create the impression that she was seeking love. He warns her, “Baby girl, don’t test me.”
