Assin North by-election, held on Tuesday, 27th June 2023, strengthened Ghana’s democratic credentials.
I extend warm congratulations to the Chairperson and Members of the Electoral Commission for their commendable performance. The security services deserve praise for maintaining law and order throughout the electoral process, while the media’s extensive coverage before, during, and after the elections is also praiseworthy.
I congratulate the National Democratic Congress on their victory in yesterday’s election.
To the members of my party, the New Patriotic Party, I encourage you to remain optimistic, acknowledging that in a democracy, there are both winners and losers, and we must continue to strive. We previously held the Assin North seat, and I firmly believe it will once again be under our party’s control soon.
