Asante Kotoko extended their impressive run to four consecutive wins with a 2-0 triumph over Bibiani GoldStars at the Baba Yara Stadium under the floodlights.
The Porcupine Warriors started strong, taking the lead in the 18th minute when Justice Blay confidently converted a penalty after Samba O’Niel’s header was blocked on the goal line.
GoldStars were dealt a significant blow in the 36th minute when Bright Kyere was sent off for a reckless tackle on Peter Amidu Acquah, making their comeback effort even more difficult.
With the numerical advantage, Asante Kotoko dominated the remainder of the first half and continued to control the match after the break.
In the 74th minute, Kotoko sealed the win when new signing Kwame Poku found space in the box and curled a low shot past the helpless goalkeeper to double their lead.
This victory marked Kotoko’s fourth straight win, lifting them to second place in the league, just three points behind leaders Heart of Lions.
