According to sources, a couple who drowned in the Volta Lake have been rescued, identified as a teacher from an island and a local woman. Their bodies have been deposited at the Krachi West Municipal Hospital morgue. The couple were returning from Kete Krachi after they were left on another island because of a storm.
Witnesses reported strong winds on the lake caused some passengers to abandon the trip. They reportedly lost control of the boat while dropping off a passenger they had missed earlier. The fisherman rider survived the accident.
