The OSP took action to freeze Cecilia Dapaah’s Prudential Bank and Société Générale bank accounts after discovering significant sums of money during a search of her home. On August 31, 2023, the High Court in Accra directed the OSP to return the $590,000 and GH¢2.73 million seized from Dapaah’s residence within seven days.

In response, the OSP contested the court’s decision and appealed to the Human Rights Court to allow the continued freezing of the former minister’s assets and funds. On October 9, 2023, Cecilia Dapaah applied to expedite the freeze and seizure case.

The OSP, via its Facebook page, announced that the Human Rights Court in Accra has adjourned the case to February 1, 2024. The adjournment relates to the interlocutory injunction application filed by Cecilia Abena Dapaah and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffuor, against the OSP, seeking to prevent the continued freezing of Dapaah’s accounts and the seizure of cash recovered from their residence.
