Minority Chief Whip and Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annoh Dompreh, has been caught on tape allegedly inciting disruption in Parliament by directing his colleagues to forcibly halt the vetting process on Thursday night.
In a viral video, Annoh Dompreh was heard instructing fellow Minority MPs to “muntutu cable nu nyinaa”—which translates to “unplug all the cables.”
This dramatic move was reportedly aimed at forcing the Appointments Committee to adjourn before the vetting of the Health and Foreign Affairs ministers-designate. The standoff erupted as the Majority pushed to continue the session beyond 10 PM, while the Minority fiercely resisted.
The situation quickly escalated, with reports of tables and microphones being damaged, prompting police intervention to restore order.
In response, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin defended their actions, emphasizing the importance of thorough questioning during the vetting process. He also accused the Majority of attempting to intimidate the opposition, stating, “The NDC is always out to intimidate people… always bullying.”
This latest controversy follows Annoh Dompreh’s recent public clash with Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle, the Acting CEO of the Petroleum Commission, who labeled him a “silly MP.”
Their heated exchange occurred during a break in the vetting of Defence Minister-designate Dr. Edward Omane Boamah on January 28, 2025. Hardcastle was heard saying, “You’re a micro-minority… I don’t have time for that. You think you can bully me here?”
Annoh Dompreh later expressed outrage over the incident on the floor of Parliament, further fueling tensions between both sides.
