Ghanaian culinary star and digital innovator, Chef Abbys — known off-screen as Abena Amoakoa Sintim-Aboagye — has been selected as the sole Ghanaian representative for TikTok at the prestigious 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France.
Her selection follows her recent honour on TikTok’s 2025 Discover List, which celebrates 50 global creators who are reshaping culture and driving creativity around the world.
Set to take place from June 16 to 20, the 72nd edition of the Cannes Lions Festival will feature Chef Abbys in several headline engagements. On Wednesday, June 18, she will speak on a high-level Nestlé panel, followed by an appearance at the TikTok Creator Corner on Thursday, June 19. She will also connect with fans in an exclusive meet-and-greet.
TikTok is using this global platform to highlight creators and brands that are revolutionizing storytelling and digital culture, with Chef Abbys front and center — proudly representing Ghana on the international stage.
Her presence at Cannes is not just a personal achievement but a landmark moment for Ghana and the African continent, underscoring the rising global influence of African creativity. As a passionate ambassador of Ghanaian cuisine, Chef Abbys uses food to celebrate heritage, spark conversations, and build cultural bridges.
With a following of over 1.3 million on TikTok, she has redefined how traditional dishes like waakye, kenkey, jollof, and banku are perceived — transforming them into rich, engaging digital stories. For Chef Abbys, food is more than nourishment; it’s a vessel for storytelling, cultural preservation, and global connection.
