Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized his main rival, John Mahama, ahead of the December 7 presidential election, focusing on Mahama’s past performance in office.
During his first Meet the Press event in Accra on August 25, Dr. Bawumia highlighted what he described as Mr. Mahama’s poor track record while in government.
“We all remember, Mahama left an abysmal record. We suffered through dumsor, lives were lost due to the power outages, the national ambulance service was almost non-functional, and unemployment was high,” Dr. Bawumia stated.
The phrase “Ghanaians have short memories,” a remark made by Mr. Mahama while in office, was recalled by Dr. Bawumia in response to complaints about the state of the economy during Mahama’s tenure.
