During the annual May Day celebration in Accra, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo assured Ghanaians that the recent erratic power supply issues, known as “dumsor,” have been effectively addressed.
Addressing the nation, the President conveyed his optimism that the challenges with electricity supply are now a thing of the past. He extended his appreciation to the Ghanaian populace for their patience and cooperation during the challenging period.
“I want to extend my sincere gratitude to all Ghanaians for their patience and understanding during the recent temporary challenges we faced with electricity supply across the nation,” stated the President.
He continued, “During this time, the issues concerning transformers and gas supply have been successfully resolved, leading to significant improvements in the reliability of power supply.”
“In fact, in the past few days, we have observed stable electricity supply throughout the country, with no reports of load-shedding,” the President affirmed.
Reflecting on the government’s efforts over the past seven years to ensure uninterrupted power supply, President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence that Ghana has overcome the era of dumsor and that such challenges will not resurface in the future.
