Eight players could be sold as Chelsea overhauls its squad

Chelsea could sell eight players as they continue to overhaul Graham Potter’s squad.

Chelsea have had a rather bizarre transfer window in which they spent over £300 million ($371m) on signing Enzo Fernandez from Benfica and broke Jack Grealish’s British transfer record. A ruthless sale of familiar faces may be on the cards this summer as the club tries to clear out underperforming first-team players.

As stated in the report, owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital know that improvements must be made to climb back up the league standings. A deal that would have brought Hakim Ziyech to Paris Saint-Germain fell through, which started refreshing the squad in January. Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mateo Kovacic and Kalidou Koulibaly may not remain when they return from their loan periods, along with Christian Pulisic, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Kovacic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Following the departure of Joao Cancelo, Manchester City has shown interest in Ben Chilwell.
