Accompanied by Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem, Dr. Forson addressed key economic challenges affecting the traders, including:
- The impact of inflation on their businesses
- Taxation policies and financial burdens
- Limited access to credit for small-scale traders
He assured them that their concerns would be carefully considered in shaping government policies for the upcoming budget.
“Their expectations ahead of Budget 2025 will help shape our shared future,” Dr. Forson added.
2025 Fiscal Policy Set for Presentation
The government has finalized the 2025 fiscal policy document, which will be presented to Parliament on March 11. The policy aims to promote economic stability and drive sustainable growth.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem has reaffirmed the government’s decision to scrap the e-levy and betting tax, aligning with the administration’s campaign promises.
“The President, John Mahama, has made it clear that he will deliver on the promises he made to Ghanaians. That includes removing the e-levy and betting tax,” he stated in an interview.
