Several stores at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra have been destroyed by a fire that broke out on Sunday, May 21, 2023, around 1 pm. Currently, the Ghana National Fire Service, assisted by the police, is present at the scene and actively working to extinguish the flames.
Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO) II, Alex King Nartey, from the Public Relations Department of the GNFS Headquarters, spoke to Graphic Online and affirmed the fire team is trying to combat the fire. He emphasized that their primary objective is to minimize the damage caused, particularly because of the proximity of a fuel filling station to the affected stores. Their utmost priority is to prevent the fire from spreading in that direction.
