Fire outbreak at Ritz junction near Madina

A fierce fire outbreak along the Agbogba to Ritz Junction Road near Madina, Accra, has destroyed multiple wooden and container structures, leaving several homes and businesses in ruins.

Despite challenging conditions, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded and managed to bring the blaze under control.

According to GNFS spokesperson Alex King Nartey, the highly flammable nature of the structures contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.

“It’s a cluster of wooden and container structures, which made it easier for the fire to spread quickly,” he explained.

While at least 12 buildings suffered partial destruction, the swift intervention of firefighters helped prevent further damage to over 50 structures in the area.
