Ghana and Korea have agreed to establish a strategic partnership centered on technology, agriculture, and education. This collaboration reflects the shared vision of both countries to enhance cooperation and utilize their respective expertise, centered on resources for mutual progress and development.
The strategic partnership aims to leverage technology for innovation, improve agricultural productivity, and foster educational opportunities. By combining their efforts in these critical areas, Ghana and Korea are poised to drive economic growth and ensure a prosperous future for their citizens.
The agreement was forged during a courtesy call by the Ghanaian Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, and his delegation to the South Korean Prime Minister, Han Duck-soo. This visit took place on the sidelines of the International Conference for the 60th Anniversary of Korea’s five-year Economic Development Plan in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
Speaking from Seoul, Mr. Ofori-Atta described the trip as insightful and highlighted the productive meeting with Prime Minister Duck-soo. He emphasized that the strategic partnership would accelerate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and strengthen trade relations between the two countries. Mr. Ofori-Atta also highlighted the partnership’s immense potential for knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and capacity building.
According to him, Ghana can benefit from Korea’s technological advancements and collaborative agriculture efforts to address food security challenges, boost productivity, and promote sustainable practices. To prepare the workforce for future employment opportunities, the Finance Minister stressed the importance of education.
Expressing his optimism about the strategic partnership, Mr. Ofori-Atta emphasized its positive impact on both economies. He stated that leveraging technology, agriculture, and education could achieve sustainable growth and shared prosperity.
Prime Minister Duck-soo reciprocated the optimism and conveyed his belief that the partnership would yield significant benefits for both nations. He also thanked the Ghanaian delegation for their visit to South Korea.
