The management of Ghana Water Limited (GWL) in the Ashanti Region has officially announced the full restoration of water supply within the Greater Kumasi Metropolis.

GWL clarified that the interruption in water supply was a result of unstable power delivery from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to both the Barekese Water Treatment Plant and the Achiase Booster Station.

In an interview with Citi News, Ebenezer Padi Narh, the Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of GWL, confirmed that ECG has successfully restored power and has provided assurance of a consistent and stable water supply.

“In the operations of Ghana Water Limited, whenever challenges arise, we communicate with our customers to seek their understanding and support. Although this interruption occurred, we are pleased to announce that the water supply has resumed. ECG has addressed the issue and reinstated stable power supply to the Barekese Water Treatment Plant and the Achiase Booster Station. We remain hopeful that the power stability continues so that we can continue providing the needed potable water to the people,” said Ebenezer Padi Narh.
