Ghanaian student receives recognition for sustainability research

Joel Holison, a Ghanaian graduate student, has received recognition for his remarkable research and creativity at Eastern Illinois University. He placed second in this year’s Award for Excellence in Student Research and Creativity.

Holison’s research was entitled “Assessing the Knowledge, Attitude, and Everyday Life Practices Adopted among Eastern Illinois University Students Towards Sustainability” and examines the sustainability practices students implement daily. As a graduate student in Technology Management and Sustainability, Holison seeks to encourage sustainable practices among his schoolmates.

The Booth program aims to foster exceptional student research and acknowledge significant contributions to the field. Winners were selected based on their excellence, creativity, and utilization of research resources. Entries were works completed by Eastern students within the past 12 months.

The program motivates students to augment their studies by utilizing the abundant information accessible at Booth Library and other research venues. Holison’s research recognition emphasizes the significance of sustainable practices and encourages students to actively promote them in their daily lives.

The university commended Holison for his hard work and dedication to excellence in student research.
