The High Court in Accra has granted bail to Gregory Afoko, a key suspect in the 2015 murder of Adams Mahama, the former Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), after nearly a decade in custody.
The court set bail at GH₵500,000 with two sureties, marking a significant development in a case that has spanned almost ten years.
Afoko was arrested in 2015 for allegedly conspiring with others to carry out a fatal acid attack outside Mahama’s Bolgatanga residence.
Despite his release on bail, the trial remains ongoing as the state continues to press its case against him.
