June inflation rate dropped significantly to 22.8%, according to the most recent data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).

Prof. Anim provided additional details regarding the GSS’s Consumer Price Index statistics during a press briefing on Wednesday in Accra. He noted that food inflation and non-food inflation were reported at 24.0% and 21.6%, respectively, indicating differing impacts on the consumer market.

Prof. Anim also highlighted that the 22.8% inflation rate represents a substantial increase in prices for goods and services from June 2023 to June 2024.

He emphasized the slowdown in the rate of inflation and the progressive downward trend in monthly rates, which culminated in June’s recorded decline.
