A unique celebration was held to honor the late former President John Evans Atta Mills’ 80th birthday by the former head of communications at the White House.
At the late president’s final burial site, “Asomdwe Park” in Accra, Samuel Koku Anyidoho joined the late president’s maternal family to mark the momentous occasion.
The celebration included singing, dancing, and stirring prayers, highlighting the late president’s devout Christian faith. In recognition of his unwavering devotion to God, the family presented him with a Holy Bible as a birthday gift.
Obaahemaa Nana Enifua III, Kyidomhemaa of the Odomna Ebusua, and Ebusuapanyin Kobina Biney led the clan heads in the celebration on behalf of the Ekumfi Odomna family from Ekumfi Otuam.
Mr. Anyidoho, founder and CEO of the Atta-Mills Institute, expressed sincere gratitude to the family for enduring taunts and vilification.
“He was a very good man, and I can’t stop appreciating what he did for me. No matter how heavy the cross is, I have chosen to carry it to the glory of God and country. I know that in this 12th year of the painful death of my political father, my cross shall land on Calvary for redemption and salvation to crown my determination and resilience,” Mr. Anyidoho added.
