The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has assured Ghanaians that despite the severe economic challenges facing the country, his administration, beginning in January 2025, will work relentlessly to restore Ghana’s prosperity.

While expressing concern that the current NPP government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has mismanaged the economy and burdened the nation with debt, Mahama remains confident that, if given the mandate, Ghana will once again reclaim its position as a leading hub of trade and commerce in Africa.

Speaking at the conclusion of the 10th National Sacred Heart of Jesus Congress and Golden Jubilee in Tamale, Mahama acknowledged the gravity of the situation, pointing to widespread poverty and rising debt.

However, he expressed optimism that through divine intervention, the resilience of the Ghanaian people, and a commitment to hard work, the country will overcome its current difficulties and offer hope to future generations.

“There will be difficult times ahead over the next four years, given how deeply our nation has been plunged into poverty and debt. But with God on our side, along with the Ghanaian spirit of endurance and hard work, we shall make progress, and Ghana will rise again,” Mahama declared.
