The leadership of the aggrieved customers of Menzgold Ghana is set to meet with the Ghana Police Service on Monday, October 23, to discuss the release of GH¢5 million by the company’s CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah. This amount is intended for onward disbursement to the affected clients.

Menzgold had previously announced the release of these funds, which will be supervised by the police, with payment being limited to clients who have adhered to the prescribed procedures during the settlement process.

Frederick Forson, the convenor for the aggrieved customers, stated that the upcoming meeting with the police aims to provide clarity on the next steps regarding the use of the funds. He mentioned that Nana Appiah Mensah had deposited GH¢5 million at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters, and the money had been transferred to the Bank of Ghana. However, the customers are still awaiting information regarding the intended purpose of these funds.

Forson noted that the case is currently in the High Court, and any actions related to the funds would likely need to come from the Attorney General. The meeting with the police is expected to shed light on Nana Appiah Mensah’s intentions for the money.

The aggrieved customers have been advocating for the release of their funds since Menzgold suspended its operations in 2018, and the company has faced allegations of operating a Ponzi scheme. Nana Appiah Mensah, also known as NAM1, is currently facing trial for fraud.
