The Minority Leader, has indicated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) may push to recall Parliament to demand an audit of the voter registration process ahead of the 2024 elections.

Dr. Forson emphasized that the audit is crucial to address irregularities and ensure future elections are free, fair, and transparent.

Speaking in Accra during the NDC’s nationwide protest against the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Forson expressed deep concerns about alleged tampering with voter registration and asserted that the party could not overlook the discrepancies.

“We believe the voter register needs to be audited. The extent of tampering we’ve witnessed makes it impossible to move forward without a thorough review. This audit will reveal the scope of the issue and allow us to correct the system,” he stated.

Dr. Forson further stressed that the NDC’s call for an audit stems from its dedication to ensuring peaceful elections.

“The most important person is the Ghanaian voter. We want to ensure that on election day, everyone can vote and every vote counts. We urge Ghanaians to get involved and make sure that the right steps are taken,” he added.
