Mozambique Coach Chiquinho Condé has expressed readiness for the upcoming battle against Ghana, vying for a third-place spot to secure progression to the round of 16.
The former Mozambican striker outlined their strategy, stating their intention to provoke Ghana and eliminate them from the tournament. Condé acknowledged Ghana’s quality but emphasized the perceived lack of peace of mind within their team.
“We are planning to provoke the Ghana team. While we recognize their quality, we believe they lack peace of mind,” he affirmed.
After a 14-year absence, Mozambique has returned to the African Cup of Nations. Despite participating in the tournament four times previously (1986, 1996, 1998, and 2010), the team has not advanced beyond the first round in any of those appearances.
The Mambas are set to face Ghana at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium on Monday night in their pursuit of securing a coveted spot in the round of 16.
