Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s statue destroyed

mmmmmnnnnnkkkk

A statue of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, located at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, has been toppled and destroyed by unidentified individuals.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on January 13, 2025, according to a source close to the police.

“By the time we arrived, the damage was already done,” the source told Graph Online.

Unveiled on November 6, 2024, to honor the former president, the statue had been a point of contention within the community.

In December 2024, the statue sustained noticeable damage, including a gaping hole in the back of its left leg. This sparked debates, with some residents suspecting deliberate vandalism and others attributing the damage to potential structural flaws.

The statue’s destruction has reignited controversy over its placement, with critics questioning the decision to prioritize its construction over addressing urgent developmental needs in the area.
