NDC Primaries Injunction Filed

The NDC is facing potential obstacles again in its presidential and parliamentary primaries, as a new application for an injunction has been filed against the party. Edgar Asamoah Boateng, a card-bearing member of the NDC in Abuakwa North, claims the party has failed to meet the constitutional deadlines outlined in its constitution for the 2024 general election.

In his complaint, Boateng alleges the NDC has provided conflicting instructions regarding the issuance of a register, raising concerns about the credibility of the upcoming elections. He further argues that the party’s reluctance to provide a complete and reliable photo album register to the presidential and parliamentary aspirants for verification suggests a plan to manipulate the primaries in their favor.

According to Boateng, failing to provide an accurate voter photo album has caused significant discord within the party. He asserts that all efforts to get a proper register have been ignored, and the internal party elections will be chaotic. Several party members, including aspirants, have taken legal action against the NDC because of the disagreements and animosity arising from this issue.

Boateng maintains that the NDC’s inconsistent directives on the register’s issuance contribute to the uncertainty surrounding the impending elections’ credibility. He believes the party’s reluctance to provide a comprehensive and reliable photo album register ahead of time is a deliberate strategy to manipulate the presidential and parliamentary primaries in their favor.

As a result, Boateng seeks legal recourse against the defendants, as outlined in the writ of summons.
