The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has clarified that the apprehension and subsequent deportation of Shalimar Abbuisi, a Belgian national and spokesperson for The New Force, were due to her obtaining a student’s permit through fraudulent misrepresentation.
According to GIS, the Comptroller-General revoked Ms. Shalimar Abbuisi’s residence permit under “Section 20 (2)(a) of Immigration Act, 2000, Act 573, as she had acquired the student’s permit through fraudulent misrepresentation.”
Following the revocation, GIS explained, “Per the law, she could no longer stay in Ghana, and the Comptroller-General ordered her removal from the country. Consequently, she was repatriated on the 19th of December, 2023, aboard Air Brussels Flt. No. SN 319 back to her home country.” The statement was signed by C/Supt. Michael Amoako-Atta, Head of Public Affairs.
