Assistant coach Alain Ravera marked his official introduction to the Ghana national football team on March 24, 2026, during the team’s training camp in Austria. As part of a long-standing team tradition, Ravera took part in an initiation ceremony that included dancing in front of players and staff, a customary practice used to welcome new members into the squad.
Ravera was appointed in February 2026 by the Ghana Football Association as part of an expanded technical team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He serves as First Assistant Coach under head coach Otto Addo, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong reputation for his analytical and detail-driven approach to match preparation and tactical planning.
With over three decades of coaching experience in France, Ravera has previously worked with the Guinea national team and French side AS Monaco. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the Black Stars’ technical depth as they prepare for the global tournament.
Ravera is part of a broader reinforcement of the team’s backroom staff, with several specialists added to enhance performance across key areas. These include Kim Lars Björkegren as Second Assistant Coach, José Daniel Martínez Alfonso as Chief Scout and Video Analyst, Carlos Lozano Romero as Team Physiotherapist, and Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi as Performance Coach.
The additions reflect a comprehensive effort to build a highly competitive and well-prepared technical team capable of supporting Ghana’s ambitions on the world stage.
