Eric Ati, an alumnus of the University of Ghana Business School, has been named the recipient of the prestigious Marcotte Family Outstanding Master of Science in Accountancy Award at Illinois State University.

The award was presented on April 30, 2026, recognizing Ati’s exceptional academic performance, professionalism, and consistent personal development throughout his graduate studies.

The Marcotte Family Award is reserved for top-performing students in the university’s Master of Science in Accountancy program, highlighting not only academic excellence but also a strong commitment to ethical standards and professional growth within the accounting field.

In a statement shared on LinkedIn, Ati expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a reflection of his dedication to advancing both his career and the broader accounting profession.

Ati’s achievement adds to a growing list of Ghanaian scholars earning distinction in U.S. institutions. Notably, Raymond Acquah Johnfiah was named valedictorian at Seattle University in June 2025 after completing his MSc in Accounting and Analytics.

The recognition underscores the increasing global impact of Ghanaian students in the field of accounting and finance, particularly within competitive academic programs in the United States.
