GCB Bank PLC has been honored with three major awards at the 5th Edition of the Ghana FinTech Awards held on March 28, 2026, highlighting its strong commitment to digital transformation and innovation within the banking sector.
The bank received the Mobile Banking App of the Year award for its advanced and user-friendly mobile banking platform. It was also named Best Commercial Bank with Digital Innovation, recognizing its continued efforts to deliver secure, accessible, and efficient digital banking solutions. In addition, the FinTech CTO/CIO of the Year award was presented to Patrick George Quantson, the bank’s Chief Digital Officer, for his leadership in driving the institution’s digital strategy.
These achievements are underpinned by several key innovations introduced by the bank. GCB has implemented mobile-led onboarding, allowing customers to open accounts instantly using the Ghana Card alongside facial biometric verification. This has significantly simplified the account creation process and improved customer convenience.
The bank has also made notable strides in promoting financial inclusion by expanding its self-service offerings and introducing innovative products such as Salary Advance, designed to meet the evolving financial needs of customers.
Furthermore, GCB continues to invest in robust digital infrastructure to ensure its services remain fast, reliable, and secure for users across the country.
The recognition comes at a time when the bank is experiencing increased adoption of its digital platforms, with more customers relying on its services for everyday transactions such as bill payments and money transfers.
