
Parliament of Ghana is set to resume sittings on Thursday, May 21, at 10:00 a.m., following a notice issued by the Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
The announcement, released by the Office of the Speaker in Accra and dated May 4, indicates that the House will reconvene for the second meeting of the second session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic at Parliament House.
The notice was issued in accordance with the Standing Orders of Parliament, which guide the scheduling and conduct of parliamentary business. Members of Parliament are expected to return after the House was adjourned on March 27.
The resumption marks the continuation of legislative activities and national deliberations, with key issues expected to include the mid-year budget review by the Finance Minister and discussions on the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill.
According to the Speaker’s office, the sitting will provide an opportunity for Parliament to proceed with pending government business and address other important national concerns.
