Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the flagbearer candidate in the recently concluded presidential election and Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has called on NPP members to unite and challenge the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 polls.
He expressed his commitment to supporting efforts to break the eight-year election cycle by collaborating with fellow NPP members. Despite earlier concerns about potential rigging, Mr. Agyapong characterized the election as “fair” and thanked his campaign team for their dedicated work.
In his address, he acknowledged the results announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) and congratulated the winner of the presidential primary. He emphasized the importance of party unity and urged members to put aside their differences to unite the party for a strong showing in the 2024 elections.
With the victory in the presidential primary, Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will go on to face former President and NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming 2024 general election.
