The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to publicly address concerns surrounding the health and current whereabouts of Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
Alhaji Masawudu’s remarks come amid mounting public speculation over the Vice President’s prolonged absence from the public eye. He contends that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership has a duty to provide Ghanaians with full disclosure.
In an interview on Adwenekasa, hosted by Kwaku Owusu Adjei (Pato) on Accra-based Original TV, Masawudu stated:
“Ghanaians deserve to know the health status of their Vice President, the cost of any medical treatment she may have received, and her current condition. There’s been no official update. Whether she is dead or alive, the people must be told.”
He emphasized that transparency is fundamental to good governance and accused President Mahama of withholding critical information about the nation’s second-highest officeholder.
His comments add to growing public concern over Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s extended sick leave and the NDC’s continued silence on the matter.
