On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, as Parliament reconvened, the newly-elected lawmaker was sworn in by Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament. The new Kumawu lawmaker, Mr. Ernest Yaw Anim, was met with warm welcomes from leaders on both sides of the house, including Cassiel Ato Forson from the Minority and Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu from the Majority.
Mr. Yaw Anim emerged victorious in the elections, securing 15,264 votes, surpassing the candidate from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwesi Amankwah, and two other Independent Candidates. Kwesi Amankwah of the NDC garnered 3,723 votes, while Kwaku Duah (1) received 2,478 and Kwaku Duah (2) received 62 votes.
