The Ghana Police Service has issued a warning to the organisers of the Concerned Citizens Against Galamsey demonstration, scheduled from 3rd to 5th October 2024, emphasizing that they will be held accountable if any laws are breached during the event.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the police reminded the organisers of their obligations under the Public Order Act, highlighting that they would be responsible for any damage to public property caused during the demonstration.

The statement also clarified that participants are required to follow police instructions to ensure the safe movement of people and vehicles, maintain order, and avoid causing traffic disruptions or disorder.

The organisers were further reminded that the police have a duty under the Public Order Act to assist in managing the event, including directing routes to prevent traffic obstructions for both pedestrians and vehicles.

The police stressed their commitment to ensuring a peaceful demonstration while safeguarding public order.
