President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced a significant ministerial reshuffle on Wednesday, February 14, resulting in the removal of Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta. The reshuffle affected approximately 13 current ministers of state, including 10 cabinet ministers and two regional ministers.
As part of the government’s reorganization, President Akufo-Addo has presented to Parliament, for prior approval through Speaker Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the names of individuals proposed for appointment as Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State. This aligns with the provisions outlined in articles 78, 79, and 256 of the Constitution
In addition to the appointments, President Akufo-Addo has reassigned certain Ministers of State and Deputy Ministers of State to new offices. These officials have been directed to assume their respective duties immediately.
