Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to be cautious about voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), warning that they may abolish the Free Senior High School (SHS) program.
During the launch of the Campaign Working Committees and Women’s Conference in Kumasi, Dr. Prempeh, also known as Napo, claimed that NDC Flagbearer John Mahama’s promise to review the Free SHS policy is a veiled intention to cancel it.
Without providing evidence, Dr. Prempeh asserted that a vote for the NDC would also jeopardize the continuation of Teacher and Nursing Training allowances. He urged Ghanaians to protect these policies by voting to keep the NPP in power.
Addressing economic concerns, Dr. Prempeh acknowledged global challenges but insisted that the NPP has successfully shielded Ghanaians from severe hardships. He also highlighted the absence of power outages under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia.
