Mrs. Samira Bawumia, the spouse of Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has graduated from the University of London, according to her recent social media announcement. Mrs. Bawumia received her Bachelor of Law degree from the institution last week and shared photos of herself donning a graduation gown on Instagram. Despite the numerous obstacles presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, Mrs. Bawumia explained in her caption that she decided to pursue the Distance (Online) Law Degree Program at the University of London a few years ago, with the support and encouragement of family and friends.

Mrs. Bawumia’s Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London is another achievement to add to her academic record, which includes a BA in Social Science in Law, Sociology, and Technology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Additionally, Mrs. Bawumia was named the Best Student in Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where she pursued postgraduate studies in 2012.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Bawumia has been an advocate for women’s education and empowerment. She encourages women to pursue higher education as the world works to bridge gender inequality gaps in every sector.
