hhhh

As I go into one of my Sunday morning musings on happenings as regards the political stratosphere, I ask; is it wrong for wise men/women to consult extensively before taking very critical/crucial decisions?

As a stoic Believer in God, I know that the God of Creation, in ALL his infinite wisdom, has His Throne surrounded by the Four Living Creatures and the 24 Elders.

At Creation, God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness …” (Genesis 1: 26) – God had to work in tandem with His Council that is why he said “Let us …).

Why has God, decided to have the 24 Elders around His Throne, if it is not for purposes of having a Council of Advisors?

At the national level (speaking specifically about Ghana), do we not have the Council of State as the highest Advisory Body sitting atop our governance structure?

Does the constitution also not mandate Presidents to have Ministers of State and also form Cabinet to help manage the affairs of state?

Do all serious (and I mean serious) political parties not have, Council of Elders to help steer the affairs of the parties in believably right directions?

So, what is Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe’s real beef if it is the case that the NPP’s Flagbearer, Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia, is “in a tight corner” only because he is applying wisdom and consulting the appropriate persons/groups prior to announcing his running mate?

Announcing a running mate; is it child’s play such that Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe expects Dr. Bawumia to, sleep, wake up and just make such a crucial announcement?

Honestly, the fact that Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe makes the point that Dr. Bawumia is in wide consultations, pans the NPP Flagbearer out as a very serious, methodical and meticulous Leader who is not about to jump into a rash decision that would boomerang in his face.

To the extent that Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe is not saying that Dr. Bawumia is being, intransigent or obstinate – ignoring wise counsel, means that Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe himself is doing good Public Relations for Dr. Bawumia.

Yes, if Dr. Tamakloe had intended to deride the character trait of the NPP Leader, the reverse has happened because from an enlightened perspective, all right-thinking persons will give Dr. Bawumia credit that even a harsh critic like Dr. Tamakloe is acknowledging the fact that wide/detailed consultations are taking place before a crucial and far-reaching decision is made.

\

Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has a military background and is also a medical doctor; does he just take decisions without consulting widely? I doubt!

Even when he took the decision as Boss of Accra Hearts of Oak to get rid of a group of intransigent players, he cannot say he did so without consulting some others who shared his view.

If for any reason Dr. Tamakloe now has access to a certain politician who does not consult widely and continues to take decisions based on his whims and caprices, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe should not think that must be the standard.

Also, the fact that the Flagbearer of the NDC has run ahead of time to announce his running mate without any wide and acceptable wide consultations, does not mean the NPP must do same.

Every Party has its own agenda to pursue and if Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has voluntarily chosen to leave the NPP and be an unwelcome (within the wider scope of the NDC) Advisor to the NDC Flagbearer, should not make him believe that he is doing his image any good.

Indeed, from the talk of Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, it is very obvious it the despotic line of thought he is foisting on his “nephew” in the NDC, that is doing more harm than good to his “nephew”.

Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, respectfully, if you have voluntarily chosen to jump off the back of the Elephant , please do not sit atop the the delicate Umbrella and destroy it for us with bad advice.

By the way, when did Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe decide that the NDC of Jerry John Rawlings is a place for him to find succor?

Or he (like many of the strangers in the NDC), will also say “I do not support the NDC, it is John Mahama I support”?

You do not like the NDC but you want your nephew to win so you can benefit from the NDC’s victory huh?

Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia should not allow any form of negative pressure to compel him to run ahead of his detailed schedule before announcing his choice – a choice that would be met with ecstatic euphoria and not one that would be met by a deafening spiral of silence as has happened in the case of my own NDC.

Interesting days ahead as we grind towards December 7th.

God keep us and gift us wisdom as we traverse this earth realm.

Ghana will not die: Ghana shall live to give glory and honour to God Almighty.

Shalom.
