A security guard at a Total fuel station in Suhum, located in the Eastern region, tragically lost his life in an armed robbery incident.

This unfortunate event occurred on Monday, October 30, when five armed robbers, who were on foot, targeted the fuel station. The robbery took place at around 6:43 p.m. during a rainstorm.

The armed assailants entered the station’s mart and confronted the security guard, known as Kwasi Agbeti, commonly referred to as “Killer.” They brutally assaulted Agbeti with sticks, and when he tried to take cover away from the mart, the attackers shot him at close range.

The robbers also targeted the station’s supervisor in his office, injuring him and escaping with an undisclosed amount of money. They further assaulted a tanker driver who had just arrived to offload fuel, taking his mobile phone and GH¢1000.

Agbeti was rushed to the hospital in a customer’s vehicle but, tragically, he did not survive. The supervisor is currently receiving medical treatment at the Eastern Regional Hospital.

This incident marked the third robbery in the Suhum area within a span of two weeks. Police and National Investigation Bureau personnel have arrived at the scene to initiate investigations into this criminal act.
