During the Met Gala on Monday, Serena Williams, a renowned tennis player and 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, announced she is expecting her second child. Accompanied by her husband, Alexis Ohanian, Williams mentioned to reporters that they were now three on the red carpet, referring to their first daughter, Olympia, born in 2017.
Williams had previously expressed her desire to shift her focus away from tennis and concentrate on building her family, as stated in a piece she wrote for Vogue magazine last year. In a TikTok post, Williams expressed her enthusiasm when Anna Wintour, the chair of the evening and editor-in-chief of Vogue, invited the three of them to the event. Roger Federer, another prominent tennis player, also graced the occasion, co-chairing the event alongside Wintour, Dua Lipa, Penélope Cruz, and Michaela Coel. Model Karlie Kloss also revealed her second pregnancy at the event.
