Seyram Mawuenyega, a Ghanaian student who gained attention in 2013 for his open letter to the former president of the Ghana Football Association, has achieved remarkable academic success since then. At the young age of 11, Seyram’s eloquent writing skills in the letter sparked debates about its authorship.
Continuing his academic excellence, Seyram graduated as the top student from SOS Herman Gmeiner International College, where he received numerous awards and prizes and held the position of Comportment Prefect.
In 2020, Seyram’s outstanding achievements earned him a full scholarship to Brown University, an esteemed Ivy League institution in the United States. In his final year, he is pursuing a major in Business Economics.
Seyram’s accomplishments were recently celebrated with a grand display as his image appeared on a giant billboard in New York City’s Times Square. The billboard recognizes him as one of Morgan Stanley’s 2023 Summer Analysts within the Wealth Management division.
This achievement is noteworthy considering the highly competitive nature of the Morgan Stanley Summer Analyst program, which accepts only 2% of applicants through a rigorous selection process.
Seyram’s journey has brought immense pride to his family and the people of Ghana. He comes from a distinguished lineage, being the son of the late Steve Mawuenyega, former vice-chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club and former Honorary Consul of Serbia to Ghana, and Princess Penelope Jones-Mensah, a renowned lawyer and former beauty queen.
As the second of three children, Seyram’s sisters, Xolasie and Chloe Elinam, have also achieved notable accomplishments.
Adding to the family’s impressive legacy is Seyram’s grandfather, the late Justice (Rtd) Emmanuel Kofi Jones-Mensah, who himself was a child prodigy. He became the attorney-general of Cameroon at 28. He later served as a justice of the superior courts of judicature in Ghana and Chief Justice of the Gambia.
