The rapper Shyy, better known as Shy of Nkasei fame, has revealed what he does in the United Kingdom after 18 years of abandoning his music career following “Tuabodom”.
Their music career was ended by Tuabodom in the early 2000s.
In Tuabodom community, residents became angry about the song, which was composed by Shyy, whose real name is Kwame Godlove Yeboah Prah.
Their community regarded the song as disrespectful. A portion of the music lyrics referred to Tuabodom’s capital as Jinijini, which they considered a distortion of their historical facts.
The music duo split after almost a year of controversy, traveling abroad to pursue their individual careers.
He revealed that despite his celebrity status, he was forced to work menial jobs in the U.K., despite his celebrity status.
As a way of surviving abroad, he washed cooking utensils at a mental hospital, he told Abeiku Santana on Okay FM’s “Ekwanso Dwoodwoo” drive show.
Despite his fame, he also worked as a cleaner.
“When I moved abroad, I began cleaning. I cleaned 17 toilets. Following the 17 toilets, I washed utensils at a mental hospital, then worked on the construction site. In fact, a lot of people in Briston often saw me digging the ground; I even did some of the work (construction) on Liverpool street and so forth…Many Ghanaians saw me while I was doing it. Many people called me from Ghana to find out if this was what I was doing, and I replied “yes, you can’t survive if you don’t do that”, he replied.
Currently, Shyy works as a CCTV operator in the UK, but has released a new EP titled “Tales of Heaven”.
