The second edition of the quarterly Graphic Business/Stanbic Bank Breakfast Meeting will be held tomorrow, June 20, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
This quarter’s discussion theme is “The Current Economic Situation and You: What to Expect, How to Cope, and Thrive.” The meeting aims to address critical economic and social issues that impact society and individuals, particularly in the aftermath of Ghana securing IMF funding.
The scheduled speakers include Prof. Godfred Alufar Bokpin, a Finance Professor from the University of Ghana Business School; Dr. Benjamin Boakye, the Executive Director of the Africa Centre for Energy Policy; and Timothy Mugodi, the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank Ghana.
Mark Badu-Aboagye, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), will chair the event.
The main speaker for the meeting is Professor Bokpin, who will provide insights on the topic. Dr. Boakye will focus on Ghana’s energy economy, challenges, and potential solutions. Mr. Mugodi will discuss current challenges in the banking sector and the measures being taken to address them.
Besides the main speakers, other participants include Dr. Yao Graham from the Third World Network-Africa and Bright Simons from IMANI Ghana, representing Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
This second edition aims to bring together stakeholders from the economy and invited guests, providing a platform for policymakers and the business community to engage in discussions on crucial national issues.
