Former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer, John Mahama, has announced plans to present a new budget in 2025 that aims to modify taxes, providing incentives for businesses. Speaking during his 2024 New Year’s address at his Tamale residence, Mahama emphasized the initiative’s focus on fostering business growth and generating employment opportunities for the youth in Ghana.

Mahama outlined the NDC’s comprehensive plan, which will be shared with various stakeholders such as businesses, academia, civil society, and the youth. The goal is to collaboratively create jobs and opportunities for the country’s young population, while also promoting business ownership and entrepreneurship among them.

The former president stated, “In April 2025, the new NDC government will introduce a fresh budget to actively support and cultivate more businesses. This budget will involve adjustments to taxes, serving as an incentive for job creation—a key component of my vision for economic growth.”

President Mahama participated in the 2023 watch night service at the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church in Tamale. Subsequently, during a working visit to the Savanna Region, he organized a New Year’s celebration in Bole for regional executives, MPs, parliamentary candidates, and executives from each of the seven savanna region constituencies.

Furthermore, Mahama hosted all 1,035 branch executives from the Bole Constituency at events in Bamboi and Bole. During his visit to the Savanna Region, he paid respects to the chief of Bamboi, Bolewura, and met with several other chiefs and opinion leaders in Tamale and Bole.
