Ten Regional ministers named for consideration

President John Dramani Mahama has submitted the names of ten individuals to Parliament for consideration as Regional Ministers, pending parliamentary approval.

Nominees for Regional Minister Positions:

1. Ali Adolf John – Northern Region
2. John Kwadwo Gyapong – Oti Region
3. James Gunu – Volta Region
4. Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey – Eastern Region
5. Ibrahim Tia – North-East Region
6. Dr. Frank Amoakohene – Ashanti Region
7. Akamugri Donatus Atanga – Upper East Region
8. Charity Gardiner – Ahafo Region
9. Salisu Be-Awuribe – Savannah Region
10. Linda Ocloo – Greater Accra Region

The nominees bring a wealth of experience from various professional fields, including healthcare, education, media, governance, and law.

• Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the nominee for the Ashanti Region, is a medical professional with significant expertise in healthcare, governance, and public service.
• Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, nominated for the Eastern Region, is a distinguished leader with experience in governance, education, and community development. She holds an MPhil in Leadership from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, and is pursuing a PhD in Migration at the University of Ghana.

The nominees are expected to appear before Parliament’s Appointments Committee for vetting before their appointments can be confirmed.
