Two others were injured and one officer was shot on Bawku Road

A member of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) was killed in the Upper East Region after being shot on the Bawku road on Monday. The victims were en route from Bawku to Missiga when unknown assailants fired at their blue sedan vehicle.

The deceased, identified as Philip Motey, was 42 years old. Eric Ayibiya, 30, and Laurence Afri, 42, were shot multiple times and are currently receiving treatment at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital.

Two other GIS officers, who were also in the same car, were injured and are currently undergoing medical treatment.
