The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Ghana has issued a stern warning to the public against submitting fake or misleading documents when applying for visas. In a statement released on October 16, 2024, the Ministry expressed concern about the rising number of applicants submitting fraudulent documents, whether knowingly or unintentionally, which compromises the visa processing system’s integrity.

The Ministry cited sections 158, 159, 166, and 169 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29), warning that submitting forged documents is a punishable offense. Going forward, individuals who provide such documents will be handed over to the police and face prosecution. The public is advised to comply with these regulations to avoid legal consequences.
