President Akufo-Addo has officially opened the 120-bed Fomena Hospital in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.
The project, initiated in 2014, faced multiple delays due to funding concerns, prompting the Adansi Traditional Area’s population to push for its completion. During the ceremony on Wednesday, July 17, President Akufo-Addo highlighted that the hospital’s completion demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing modern healthcare facilities that meet national standards.
He noted that similar hospital projects have been completed in Takoradi, Kumawu, and Fomena, reflecting the government’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure.
President Akufo-Addo assured that the government remains dedicated to completing several additional healthcare projects by the end of the year. He emphasized that these initiatives are part of a broader commitment to achieving universal health coverage and ensuring that all Ghanaians have access to better, more efficient healthcare.
